Know which jobs made money. This week.
Truceipts tags every card swipe, supply-house bill, timecard and sub invoice to the right job, then sends you profit per job every Monday. No tagging discipline required. No new FSM.
Card swipes, supply-house bills, timecards and sub invoices land on a job address without anyone typing a class code.
A job P&L in your inbox. No Friday night rebuilding it in Excel, no waiting for month-end close.
Job-costing depth without moving to ServiceTitan. Keep the FSM you already pay for, cancel any month.
Every expense lands on the right job
QuickBooks job costing only works if someone tags every expense in advance. Nobody does. Truceipts uses what your FSM already knows (who was where, when, for which customer) to tag it for you.
- Card belongs to the tech assigned to the job
- Swiped during the job window, 1.2 mi from the address
- No other open job for Marco that morning
- PO field names the street
- Line items match the equipment on the estimate
- Delivery address is the job address
- Split by job status times in Housecall Pro
- Drive time goes to the job he drove to
- Flags hours with no job attached
- Bill memo has the address
- Bayside is the sub on this job
- Amount is within the sub's quote
See margin while you can still fix it
Most owners learn a job lost money at month-end, or never. Truceipts shows you every Monday, sliced the ways you actually make decisions.
#2288 was quoted at 40%. Two extra Ferguson runs and 3 unplanned hours ate it.
Luis had 2 callbacks this week. Both were on warranty, so no revenue.
Installs bring most revenue but the thinnest margin. Worth a look at install pricing.
Overhead is $41 per billable hour. Any job priced under that loses money before materials.
Only the weird ones reach you
The software tags what it's sure about. A trained bookkeeper on our side checks the rest. You see two or three questions a week, not a pile of uncategorized transactions.
Kim's card. She ran two jobs that day.
Return with no PO. Which job gets the credit?
Paid to "J. Ruiz". Helper on a job, or personal?
- Cleared 14 low-confidence tags from Monday's card batch
- Matched 3 Ferguson credits to their original invoices
- Asked you about 2 items she couldn't place
- Sent the week's job P&L to you and your CPA
- Set Customer:Job on Bill #1043 → 77 Harbor Rd
- Set Customer:Job on INV-88213 → 1418 Elm St
- Skipped 1 duplicate from the Housecall Pro sync
- Undo available on every change for 90 days
Where the margin leaks in your trade
Same problem in every shop: the cost happens in the field, the books happen in the office, and nobody joins them.
HVAC

Third supply-house run on a water heater the tech quoted at one.
Supply runs per job →Electrical
Wire, fixtures and panels bought on one card for three addresses.
Materials by address →Remodel & GC
Sub bills and change orders that never make it back to the job.
Subs vs. budget →Garage door

Material drops, dumpsters and crew days spread across a long job.

"This role is NOT a general VA position… Assign every expense to the correct project (by property address)… Profit per job/project."
"Reporting options described as extremely limited, with no meaningful customisation."
"Doesn't pass job costs through, making reporting useless."
QuickBooks job costing works only if every expense is tagged in advance. In a small shop, that discipline doesn't last.
QuickBooks Desktop for the books, Housecall Pro for jobs, Excel for P&L, Word for bids.
"Hits a ceiling fast."

Questions owners ask
Straight answers on price, setup and what Truceipts touches in your books.
What is Truceipts?
Truceipts is job-costing software for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other home-service shops that run on Jobber, Housecall Pro, Workiz or ServiceTitan with QuickBooks. It tags every card swipe, supply-house bill, timecard and sub invoice to the right job using what your FSM already knows (tech, address, date, supplier), then emails you profit per job every Monday.
How much does Truceipts cost?
The Software plan is $249 a month for up to 8 techs. The Managed plan is $690 a month for up to 15 techs and adds a named bookkeeper who clears your exception queue. Multi-crew is custom-priced for more techs, more locations or project budgets. Every plan is month-to-month with no setup fee and no early-termination fee.
Is Truceipts cheaper than hiring a job-costing VA?
Yes. An offshore job-costing VA typically costs $800 to $1,100 a month, and job posts for the role ask for someone to assign 5 to 10 transactions a day to the right job by property address. You still have to train and check that person. Truceipts Managed is $690 a month and includes the software plus a trained bookkeeper on our side.
Do I need ServiceTitan to get job costing?
No. ServiceTitan has job costing, but it typically costs 5 to 10 times what small shops pay for Jobber, Housecall Pro or Workiz, and its contracts carry an early-termination fee. Truceipts adds profit per job on top of the FSM you already have, starting at $249 a month.
Why doesn't QuickBooks job costing work for my shop?
QuickBooks job costing only works if every expense is tagged to a customer and job when it is entered, and small shops rarely keep that discipline. FSM-to-QuickBooks syncs also often post every job to one customer and one service item, so the cost of each job is lost. Truceipts does the tagging for you and sends only the unclear expenses to an exception queue.
Which software does Truceipts work with?
Truceipts reads job data from Jobber, Housecall Pro, Workiz and ServiceTitan, and works with QuickBooks Online and Xero. It also reads bank and card feeds and emailed supplier invoices, such as Ferguson PDFs.
Will Truceipts change the numbers in my books?
No. Truceipts only adds Customer:Job tags in QuickBooks. It never deletes transactions or edits amounts, and every change can be undone for 90 days. It starts read-only, and nothing is written to your books until you say so.
Can I start today?
Truceipts is onboarding a limited number of shops each week and is at capacity right now. Pick a plan and leave your email, and we will contact you when your spot opens. You are not charged when you sign up.

Connect your FSM and QuickBooks. Every Monday you get profit per job, with the weird expenses already sorted.
